Imagine a young man who desperately wants to marry a beautiful girl he met at church.

He comes to God with a sincere prayer from the very bottom of his heart. But the problem is that God also has to answer a dozen other young men in the same church, who might also be praying the same prayer. They all want to marry this beautiful girl, but unfortunately only one person can!

The only option in this case would be to let God choose what’s best for each of them as well as for her.

The point is that we have to think beyond this so-called "result-oriented" mentality in prayer. As human beings, we can only think about our immediate gratification and know only of the specific situation we are praying about. But God has to see beyond us. There is no way we can figure out the best answer for our prayer because we do not have omniscience. But thankfully God has!
