According to the Bible, not everyone is qualified to pray.

The Scriptures clearly states that the prayer of a sinner is an abomination to the Lord (Proverbs 15:8). But we are all sinners, aren’t we?

That’s why I love David’s prayer.

“Search my heart O God, and know my heart,” he prays. “Try me, and know my thoughts.” (Psalms 139:23)

I know this is one of the most difficult prayers to pray, but in my opinion, this should be the first line of all our prayers. We should begin with a searching and cleansing process, establishing a right relationship between God and us. Only then we will become "eligible" to pray the second line.

After all, only a child of God can say a prayer, which addresses God as "Our Father in Heaven."
